I am member of this forum since about 2 weeks. It is about the best of all, very detailed and I have been reading about 90% of all posts.
Just by doing this. I learned a lot.
My relevant Iveco is a 40.12 from 1993 or 1994. It has a Ecovip Laika 600 camper outfit. The whole camper has been delivered in Germany in the middle of 1995. Following my Internet research, it has a 8140.47 Sofim engine (TCA, 2.5 L).
Sofar I did not find a precise description of this engine and repair info on this forum. May be it is very simillar to another engine, already treated in this forum? Or somebody can still give a link to download info about this engine?
One of the first things to do is changing the distribution and more, but little things.
I bought this camper 4 months ago, and is the first Iveco in my life!

Thanks for any info! Colly77

Hi,

Search this topic "Documentation & How To Guides" for "Mechanical guides all models". Even if the 8140.47 engine is not included, it is very similar to those in that guide.
Welcome on board!

Thank you Bazil-S, for your welcome words. I have seen many posts from you, very impressive!

For me it seems that for many eventual problems there are two main reasons: Electrical or Injection pump.
I did earn in my working life the money with electronics so I think most of these I will master, moreover as the engine (what I understand now) is without any intelligence, just mecanical. This is also my first Diesel so I am very interested to know more about the Injection pump. As also a former owner did build in some anti-thief gear, (litary, little blackboxes in the CI compartment) what might immobelise in some way, some day, the engine via the injection pump for a 8140.47, 2.5 L engine ?

Thank for your attention, Colly77
