Hi all, I just reset the engine timing after it slipped, and I'm going back to put a new belt and tensioners on soon. Currently the engine runs and appears to be stronger than before (hooray!). What I'm now not so clear about is where the timing marks are for the crank at the front of the engine. The manual says to lock the flywheel, but that means getting dirty under the van (so I'd rather not). There's images on eBay of where the marks are, but when I look at my engine they don't make much sense - I've attached the image. The cam and injector marks/holes are in the same place, and on the cam there's two marks (one round and another notch opposite) I've aligned these vertically with the round mark down as it appears in the photo - is this right? The engine runs and there were no tight spots when I turned by hand. |

Thanks, Basil, that's what I thought but wasn't exactly sure! |
