Can you give any good hints how to remove a brake drum, if it is stuck so that it even doesn't move? I tryed to slide-hammer it, but without any luck.

you need to back the brake adjusters completely off,as a ridge wears into drum .Joe

I have the same problem with a second hand axle I am renovating. When I get around to it I am going to grind off the shoe retaining pins at the back of the backplate. This should allow for the drum and the shoes to come off in one. You will have to figure out where everything goes when you reasemble and you will need to buy new retaining pins but they are available on the net. You may also have to fiddle around with the handbrake cable. I have not done it this way myself but I have read about it so I am trying it as a last resort. As has been said the drums get a ridge with wear. Sometimes the shoes also stick to the drum if the hand brake has been left on.

I feel very fortunate that mine has discs all round, much easier to deal with.

Do you mean it won't work if it has drum handbrake or if it has disc handbrake? Here is the artical I read.

not at all, just a case of each system has its pitfalls! the hand brake on the disc tends to sieze in the on position.the discs with mini drum for handbrake are not designed very well in the fact its v.hard to adjust as springs are in the way! so tend to be badly overlooked/neglected because of this,in theory they shouldnt hardly wear as only used on hand brake.
each has its benefits as well I geuss. personally my preferance was for the old models which had huge drums on the back(5 tonners) and massive 4 pot calipers on the front with vented discs..but times move on and thing improve(?) to single pot calipers with sliders......Saying that the addition of ABS is a great thing , as well as my favorite of traction control.(brilliant)

Okay. Mine being a 40-10 4x4 has the massive drums and 4 pot calipers on the front. I am hoping that mine will come apart as the artical suggests.

You could try this:
1) back of the adjusters as suggested. This fiddly because they are on a sort of ratchet. A bent screwdriver is useful.

but a pair of wheel nuts back on as far as they go. Then I made a bracket with a unistrut and coach bolts, where the head of the coach bolt grips the drum. You can use the unistrut to lever off the drum or slowly undo the wheel nuts to pull it away gently.

Yeah mine's got the mini drum handbrake, greased the handbrake rod a little while ago to stop it seizing, think the handbrake was done before its MOT so should be ok for a while.http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer
