OK, new member here. I own a Daily II from 1994 which was in her former life a firefighter car. I was planning to install a car radio in it but I don't even know if the car has speakers. There is the usual opening for the radio and some kind of plugs which I found out are not the modern version of the radio connectors but should be the ones to connect the radio to (perhaps with an adapter). But having no radio laying around I don't want to shell out the cash for one only to find out later that the car has no speakers to begin with. I thought there were in the doors but there are no cables running to them so I assume there are not there. Anybody knows more about the location?

Mine has speakers in the doors, at the front of the storage unit. They were very poor, particularly compared with the noise of the engine. I also have a pair at the top of the back wall. |

Ok, that's what I suspected, so since there are no wires running to my doors I'm pretty sure they were never installed. So, there goes my option for installing a car radio :/ |

Its not very hard to thread some speaker cables through. It is awkward, but not very hard. |

I'm looking into the way of installing a car radio at the moment but nothing makes sense in terms of the plugs that are present, there are 2 plugs and neither of them seems to be standard. Tried to look them up or find an adapter but nothing seems to fit either of them, the ones that turn up for the Iveco Daily II seem to be for a different plug than what I have here. |

Maybe something like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1311.R1.TR2.TRC0.A0.H0.Xcar+stereo+con.TRS0&_nkw=car+stereo+connector&_sacat=0 You may have to use a universal one and solder it in to your existing wiring. Graeme |

I figured it out after some extensive searching. The white one is supposed to be a Fiat connector for cars like the old Uno, Punto and Cinquecento. The green connector however got me flabbergasted as it's a Metra 71-1736 connector for radio's in Hyundai's and Mitsubishi's from the early 90's. I don't know what that connector is doing in a car like an Iveco Daily. There are adapter available so it seems but I didn't order one as I just had to cut the positive and negative from the Metra connector and I used the continues feed from the Fiat connector for the memory of the car radio. As there were no speakers in my car I just bought an ISO connector with just the wires on it and used small connectors to wire it all together. Problem of having no speakers is solved. But in the end this info might help other people to find the right adapter which doesn't seem to be that hard but it is when you have no clue what the names of the connectors are. Finally I have some music and radio in my Daily II (which I call Chubby Buddy) :). |
