Sorry about this one, I know it's been done to death but my heater blower is completely dead at the moment. I've checked the connections on the side of the heater under the bonnet, both the main power feed and resistor connectors look fine, and the connections are firm when I plug them in. I ran 12v direct from the battery to the 2pin connector and nothing happened, does this mean the blower is dead or is there another piece of the circuit I'm missing? I don't really know where to start with the resistor, there's about 5 pins on it and I don't know which ones to shove the multimeter onto to test, any help with this would be great, thank you. When the switch is turned on, I do get a voltage through the main power leads, so I think that's working. Any ideas and help much appreciated, thanks guys! |

A couple of points that might be useful.... There are two (+ & -) spade connections on the fan motor inside the casing which are liable to corrosion. I managed to pull them off and clean them through the air flap but its a bit of a fiddle. When checking the wiring be aware that there is an ignition controlled live feed direct to the fan motor with the earth return going through the resistor and switch. Good luck, Tony |

Ok will check the wiring there, is there a way to get power directly to the blower to check it works? |

Had this years ago and it was the brushes in the motor,Iveco do not do brushes but will sell you a new motor and the cowling for a few hundred quid. Went to local car electrical place and got some brushes for £2.75 . |

You could run a live and earth to the motor to check it, the connections are in this pic taken through the air flap red is pos., brown is neg.(earth)

Just to add to this thread, I too have the same problem on 1996 Turbodaily, no heater what so ever have exchanged the heater box over with one from another van. Its worked once but has stopped working and I only have warm air blowing into the cab. Help! Robin |

Also had this problem, I'm not exactly sure what I did to fix it though (poked and cleaned it all!) HOWEVER, if you need better access to the motor then there are pop off clips to remove the fan and flap from the heater core. IIRC they're located on either side and two on top (which can be a little difficult to see - some wires in the way). There may be more below too but can't remember. I found my fan had broken off the mountings on the plastic which could have been causing it to not spin, zip ties were the best fix once it was taken apart. I also jiggled the wires running to the resister and it would sometimes work like this. |
