Hi all, New to forum and a help as a first post...lol I am a horse widow. Wife and daughter have horses and we have upgraded from a trailer to a 1998 Iveco Turbo Daily horsebox. I say we, I paid for it but my wife, saw it,liked it and drives it. It's a lovely little thing but cannot select reverse. I tried a few times double declutching and managed to select reverse once but it certainly isn't working properly. Any clues as this will be the first van/truck I have worked on. Is the transmission fluid easily changed? Is there a dipstick to check? I have read that Iveco is the best place for the trannie oil. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers Kev |

Try changing the gearbox oil to castrol 75/90w, fully synthetic. It does help but not sure it would help if you can't find reverse at all! |

you do realise it is a dog leg gearbox, 1st is to the left and down and reverse is to the left and up i.e towards the front, i cannot remeber if you have to push it downwards to select reverse, hope this might help. no dipstick to check just a fill level plug, |
