Hi guys, Was under my van yesterday and there's a big plate that goes between the chassis legs about 2/3rds of the way down the length of the prop, the prop goes into it and on the other side there's a big box with some pipes, there's a clear place next to it where something used to be driven, i was under the impression that the ptos were fitted to the gearbox but then i saw this? The fact that it is there isn't really an issue, the PTO lever is still in the cab and if i can find something to run off of it and it works then brilliant, but; the large plate that holds all of this has 4 bushes where it connects to the chassis and all 4 are shot to pieces so under acceleration or engine breaking the entire lot will move back and forth, does anybody have the same on heir van and/or know where i could get ahold of the bushes? I can take a few pictures if needed, thanks in advance Ben |

Hi, P.T.O. units are made by bodybuilders, and not by the vehicle manufacturer. It's hard to identify who built the PTO on your vehicle, so it's easiest to remove that plate and find a shop that can made other bushes. There may be several types of PTO. Most can only be used with the stationary vehicle (gearbox type), but there is a type that the PTO is used with the vehicle on the go. The latter are connected to the propshaft. |
