Have you checked the pedal in the cab,as it hinges on the floor stones and dirt get under it causing it to jam . I used to have to sweep mine out weekly when I had mine. |

yeah i disconnected it from the spring bit underneath to see how it was and it flops around freely. have disconnected at the engine end as well and that bit snaps back fine. just found an old thread on here from 2012 talking of same problems, cable and spring change didnt seem to help so im apprehensive of shelling out for a new cable, which ive just been quoted for as £88! they mentioned the bushes on the pedal could be the problem, any idea where id find replacements? |

I think you should look again at the stones inside the cab suggestion. it may move around freely, but can you tell if it really does go back fully. When I have had cables fail, there are visible signs at one end or the other of the strands of cable being broken. I don't have a spring at the cab end. The spring at the engine end seems strong enough, but it is "damped" The cable is easy to check. disconnect both ends and see if you can push and pull it easily by hand. Actually you could just disconnect the engine end and the spring at the pedal end. |

Solved the problem! so the cable appears to be fine. i took the linkage out from underneath and gave it all a proper good clean, then replaced the return spring as old one was rusting bad and regreased the rubber bushings really well. seems to have sorted it, better response on the pedal than when i bought the thing, wish id done it sooner! |
