Hi everyone, I know that this may sound like a silly question to begin with, but I just recently bought a 2nd generation Turbodaily (2.8l) and I can't seem to be able to find the 5th gear. The marking on the gearknob have worn off and there is no service manual. I assume it has the classic arrangement of gears (1,3,5 in the top row and R,2,4 in the bottom). However, I can seem to get into fifth... Does anyone know if there is some trick to it? Or if it positioned elsewhere? (my van is continental one). I've tried all kind of movements, but with 0 result... |

You have found 5th (yes it really is that slow), you are missing first gear and like the rest of us finding that you hardly ever need to use it. along the top its R 2 4 bottom 1 3 5 I find first and reverse a bit notchy. Enjoy. Mark |
