Hi,

Had a search about but couldn't find much. Were these vans ever fitted with restricters and how was this done? Just noticed on our ex-minibus that it has a cap over the nut for the throttle stop - can this be removed and adjusted to get more power? Going to do full service soon which will likely help with everything too!

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

Maximum power is reached around 3500 rpm. Over this speed the power drops dramatically. Adjusting the throttle end only results only in over revs in vain.
Increasing engine power can only be done by re-adjusting the fuel pump on the bench plus replacing the injector nozzles types. Finally the turbo system must tuned (intercooler, LDA, etc).

I guess ours is running out of puff around there, maybe a little before. Just saw it and thought there may be untapped power! Don't want to go through a rebuild, I'll wait for this one to bite the dust and get more powerful one!

Thanks Bazil!
