Hallo!

I´m new in this commumitie.

The speedo of my Iveco 35.8 1999 does not work.
Now I found this Forum with a threat about this Problem.

The Post #31 is very helpful for me, but still I have some question about it.

What can you do: check the voltage supply to sensor, on the wires 5514 and 0058, both to the adapter connector and connector from the sensor. Disconnect wire 5517 from the adapter and connects it with 5513 wire, and see what happens (the signal from the sensor will be directly in the speedometer). Check the internal resistance of the sensor between the supply pins must be 1.5K ohms.
Measuring the frequency is inaccurate, because the multimeter measures usually a sine wave, with both phases, and has a very high sensitivity and can measure spurious signals, such as engine speed.
All three components, sensor, speedometer and adapter, contain electronic parts which can be damaged to a short circuit caused by water, so it is hard to find a flaw.

If I make a bridge outside of the connector between 5517 and 5513 must the connector be inside of the adapter when I check the speedp?

Between wich Pins should I check the 1.5 kOhm? Between the orange cable Yellow-B-connector pin 3 and earth?

Sorry for my bad english!

Hi,

The yellow connector on the speedometer is dedicated to the sensor. It may have one, or three orange wires.
Daily's wires have a color code and a numeric code, so look out to numeric codes.
The sensor is powered by the speedometer, or by the signal adapter. The sensor supply voltage is not measured relative to the grounding of the vehicle, but instead is measured relative of the sensor ground wire 5558 (or 0058).
The sensor has two supply wires with codes: 5514 positive and 5558 negative and a signal wire 5517. Between the two wires 5514 and 5558, it should be around 8.5V. This voltage can be measured with a multimeter at the speedometer connector, pin B1 and B2, then at the sensor connector. If there is no voltage on these wires, then check the thin ground wire connected to the negative terminal of the battery ( could be 0066, or 3366).
The signal wire that leaves the sensor has the code 5517. This code can be changed to 5513 if the signal passes through the adapter and reaches the speedometer in the B3 connector.
Wire 5517 and 5513 can be bridged to the adapter connector only as a test to check if the adapter is defective.

Thank you for your quick Response!

OK, I checked the Adapter with the Bridge 5517 and 5513. Once with connectet plug and once with disconnected plug. The wires 5517 and 5513 ihve bridget outside of the Plug.
Unfortunately without success.
Between the wires 5514 and 5558 (0058) I measure near 8V.

Im not sure if i have the right 5558 (0058) wire. I cannot read the numbers correctly.

Is it the third Brown wire from the left (0058)?

The thin wire on the minus of the batterie is connected.

Is it possible to check the function of the speedo itself?
