Hi, Does anybody know if the body mounting points of a Gen 2 and Gen 3 Cabin (from Chassis-Cab version) match? My cab is in a bad condition and finding a good used one is very difficult so was wondering if a Gen 3 would fit. Not worried about the electrics etc... can sort that out but would like to know if the mounting points match. Furthermore ... has anybody done this conversion? Regards, Rob |

Hi Rob, The mounts do not line up. I am on with this conversion myself on my 4x4. On the gen 2 the mounts at the front are through the top of the chassis, on the gen 3 they are wider apart and sit on brackets which bolt to the side of the chassis with 3 bolts one of which lines up with an existing hole, the other 2 require the holes to be drilled. At the rear both both versions sit on brackets which on the torsion bar suspension models are part of the torsion bar anchor bracket but they are not in the same position so they require a plate to be welded to the bracket. Not a difficult job, I am more concerned about the wiring! Hope this helps and if you PM me with an e-mail I can send you some photos. Cheers Richard |
