hi there am new here so any help will be appreciated. This is my first iveco so dont know much about them. The problem is on a 2002 35s11 i hear a whistleing sound when driving thuoght it was coming from turbo but dont hear it under bonnet. There is no loss of power or holes in any hoses to turbo , I have just had timing belt dont along with full service , there is no smoke or oil around turbo area. I must say that the clutch is slipping and was wondering if it was just over revving with the clutch drag thanks again for any replies. |

it's normally a split turbo hose (or leaking at one of the connections) check the hoses and clips to make sure they're right.... get someone else so sit in the van and rev it up to 2500rpm and feel around the hoses for any air coming out.... (if there's an air leak, the turbo will spin much faster and whistle) |

Hi steven 119 I have the same model and it also whistles a lot. I haven't done anything about it as it drives ok. Did you get to the bottom of it? |

I must say mine whistles quite a lot, ive tightened all the connections up but still the same. i was told it was due to old age but i would like to do something about it before it lets go. would love to hear if anyone else has similar probs on the 2.8? |

Check the exhaust manifold to head bolts, when they loosen it sounds like turbo noise. |

In 2005 we had two 35C11's...a '02 and a '03....the '02 pulled better but the turbo whistled like a siren when you drove it.....when we sold the '02,the buyer asked us to swap turbos....we did.....the '02 still pulled better, but now had no loud turbo whistle....the '03 now has a loud turbo whistle since then and performance is okay.....I've come to the conclusion its something to do with the assembly of the turbocharger on the compressor side,as you can vary the siren/whistle by the way you press the accelerator with the engine under load.....it does annoy some of the drivers though! |

Mine was whistling too. But i found the problem. It was starting whistle a lot at 2000rpm... Many garages around said that i need new turbo... I took it out and tested on stand. Stand showed that it is ok, and don't need something to do. So the problem was somewhere... But one day I found it. It was gasket between intake manifold and engine block. All whistles gone of after i changed with the new one. The bad gasket i found with cigarete. So take a cigarete burn it and when turbo is whisteling go around all the gaskets from turbo to the engine. You will see where smokes will be blown away. Hope should help you too. ![]() All work took just 30mins and 7euros for 4pcs new gaskets.
