Hi just found this site when seating Google for help with my van. I own a 06 plate, 2.3hpi Daily, which has been smoking after idling and pulling away. Anyway I've gone through a couple of Turbo's since owning the van, so just presumed that was my problem and fitted a new one. So fitted a new turbo on Monday and still smoking! Monday night I went to work and the van started smoking worse, and when I popped the bonnet they was oil all over the outlet side of the engine bay. I'm thinking maybe I put to much oil in or something? The oil on the dip stick is still between min and max so it still has plenty of oil, but now there's pressure when you remove the oil filler cap or dip stick. Could my problem be a blocked breather, and if so is the breather the plastic box on to of the engine with the various hoses coming off it. Or is it more likely to be an engine problem, head gasket, piston rings, crack piston ect? Any help appreciated, especially location of the breather. Thanks Gary. |

Hi, In the best case, the coalescence filter (sort of oil vapour condenser, in top of the engine) is clogged, or the adjacent hoses. Check if the hoses are mounted corectly, see the workshop manual. |
