hi just wondering if anyone could tell me the weight of my van. its a 2002 35c13 lwb hi roof. cant seem to find anything on the actual weight just pay load. its just a bare van ply lined in the back. thanks. |

Would think it is3.5 tonne look on chassis plate or log book. |

Hi there Yes, I think you'll find on the log book that 3500kg will be stated as it's maximum weight when fully loaded. Anything over this and you'll be prosecuted if you get stopped. It's pretty well impossible to say how heavy your van is now, as it's quite individual. Empty and unladen it probably weighs about 2 tonnes (2000kg) - but lots of places have a commercial weighbridge open to the public, why not take advantage of one..? They usually make a nominal charge of a couple of pounds for the paperwork. Try places that handle a lot of lorries, like recycling facilities. Good luck

never thought about a weighbridge. the sawmill down the road from me should have one. am trying to find out to see if my mechanics lift would take it. should be well safe as it lifts 5 tonne. thanks for the replys guys. |

I would expect a lwb 35c with ply lining to weigh between 2300-2400kg, payload 1100-1200kg. I don't know how accurate garage lifts are, you'd probably be better to go to a scrap merchants or aggregates place. If you don't want the weight on a ticket they don't always charge. The other option is the Vosa weigh bridges where they pull lorries in, when closed they often have a self service weigh for free, though its hit and miss whether they've actually left it turned on. |
