Hey Guy's

I have an Iveco Daily 2004 xlwb, I've had nothing but problems with it lately and its costing a fortune so would like to try and sort a few things myself.

The water in filter light has been on for awhile, it started off being on constantly but lately it has been going off and on, sometimes it does this very rapid and the relay sounds like electric. Does anyone know how I can fix it so the light will go off and stay off?

Thanks in advance

Hello there

I had a similar thing with my 2.8td 35s11 - the 'water in fuel filter' light would stay on after you started for a while. To start with I paid attention, then I realised that it did it quite randomly and seemed to have more in common with the length of time you wait for the glow plug light to extinguish.

I recently changed the filter anyway. The replacement was clearly for the earlier type Daily 2.8td and therefore has a drain plug instead of the sensor in the base. This meant that I knew the filter had no water in it - and with the sensor disconnected, I had no warning light problem anymore..! Alternately, a small strip of black tape did the same job with one light I had that simply wouldn't go off even though I'd checked that everything in the system was fine...

Good luck B)
