Transverse Spring Replacement

Hi, I have a 2004 35C15 Daily Van, The transverse spring has snapped.... Again! twice in 2 years, i remember the last time being a bloody difficuit job, andbody know if there is an easier way??

Hi ghalley

Just replaced the transverse spring. Put the van on axle stands supported on the chassis near the gear box.Support the bottom wishbone with a jack, remove brake caliper and top swivel nut. Remove the three bolts that hold the bottom of the shock and holds the end of the spring. Now lower the jack until the end of the spring is loose. Repeat same on other side. There is no need to disconnect the track rod ends. Now unbolt the spring support plates starting with the outer ones,it's worth giving the spring housing where the bolts go through a good clean before you start. Let me know how you get on.

Hi Superchip,

thanks for advice not been on here much! In the end i took it to Iveco as i didnt have the time, and it was a bugger of a job last time, Iveco were 300 inc the part to replace which i thought was pretty good!
