Hi! I'm a new owner of a (used, 2006) 50C17 tractor unit. Here in Switzerland, this is considered as a 'light truck' as it is de-rated to 3.5T ('B' licence)... And with a 'E' licence you can still tow a 6.5T semi, up to a total weight of 8.7T... I plan to use this truck to replace my 49-12 tractor, if I manage to make it reliable. This truck has an intermittent EDC warning light... Nothing happened during the test drive, but 15 km after I left with the paid truck, the light came on... And came off when I slowed down after leaving the highway... Then on again during the acceleration to return on it... As the truck runs fine, I suspected that the problem is related to fuel pressure somewhere in the circuit. I was able to read the EDC code with a diagnostic system supposed to be working on Iveco's... Answer was 'P0013'... Undocumented error... What a great step forward!!! By digging on Internet for these Bosch EDC, one possible answer was ' common rail pressure regulator valve'. This solenoid valve is on the pump and is driven by a PWM signal from the ECU... Does anyone here survived to a similar problem??? I really have no idea if this error is really related with the regulator valve and don't want to stock useless spare parts. This truck is not covered by the manuals available here... Engine is the 3l F1C, but it is still a Euro3 version... Seems to be a rare model as I wasn't able to find a exhaust muffler except at the agency (for twice the expected price). Anyone knows where I can find the right workshop manual? I can cope with what is available here, but... The diagnostic system I tested to read the edc code is the PS2 from Xtooltech... The product's concept is quite good, but it seems that the software is not yet mature. We were unable to get live data from the ECU. Seems also that my truck has a rear axle problem... noise between 50 and 70 km/h and a lot of play there... I will open it next week to see Next week will be greasy, with some drops of oil and clouds of diesel smoke... |

Hi, You can check by doing the following measurements: the measurement type is resistance (OHM). Be shure the ignition switch is off, or disconnect the negative terminal from the battery. 1. At the 9925 (pink) wire check continuity between pin 49 from the EDC and the regulator, check not to be short circuit to positive or negative. At the 0000 (brown) wire check continuity between pin 19 from EDC and the regulator. 2. Internal resistance of the regulator should be: Min.value: 3.2Ohm; Max.value: 3.6 Ohm; Typical value: 3.4 Ohm. Measurement is made on the EDC connector between pin 49 and 19, with the presure regulator connected. |

Hi all, I've checked the wires, everything seems Ok there. Got a pressure regulator directly to Bosch agency for 2/3 of the Iveco price. Not replaced yet... Lots of other things to do. See other posts Luc |
