Hi, I know you say the pump primes, but just to confirm: (c) Van stalls shortly after starting, or stalls when the throttle is pressed. Restarting causes van to stall instantly. Bubbles visible in translucent fuel lines after engine stops. Solution: On 2.3l (and 3.0l?) engines, locate lift pump on chassis rail near fuel tank. For a few seconds after the ignition is turned on, and whilst the engine is running, the pump should be humming. If not, give the pump a sharp tap whilst the engine is being cranked or is running, if the pump starts working the engine should start, but the pump will need to be replaced. An easy job as the fuel lines are quick disconnect, but you'll get diesel all down your arms! |
