Hi can someone please help, i have an whistle coming from the engine when under load or when travelling on motorway at about 2500rpm. Think it might be the turbo there is a small amount of oil around the turbo can't see where its coming from. Do i need a new turbo? Just about had it with this van just replaced axel and diff, pads all round and new rear caliper on one side now the other size has siezed. Even considering trading it in for a transit. Van is 35s12 2005 133000 on clock. :-/ Thanks for any help

Mine was whistling because of gasket between intake manifold and engine block. It looked like broken turbo, but afer all i changed gasket and it stopped whistling. ;) Maybe this could help you too. Try to use burning cigarete fumes to find if somewhere air blows away...

Could also be rubber pipe on top of the engine from the intercooler to inlet manifold has a small (or large) split. This pipe is pressurised by turbo so you need to have the engine at about 2500 while checking this. While your there check all the connections too.

Small amount of oil round the turbo is, in my experience, fairly normal, usually because the engine breather exits into the turbo intake. :o
