Can you change the main seal by removing the gear box, or does the engine have to come out. Thanks Edited by gerryoxford, Dec 23 2011, 02:45 PM.

To be honest there are many possibilities when it comes to oil leaks, the best way is to power wash the motor and underside and locate were it is coming from then decide your action. MM |

The chain drive engine was fitted to the 4x4 version. The belt has a plastic cover whereas the chain is oil lubricated and therefore is in a steel casing. Tony |

to my knowledge there wasn't a 3rd generation 4x4 The current (4th gen) 4x4 is not actually an Iveco at all really but built by a company called Scam (yes really) using Iveco parts. You can buy a Scam and its the same vehicle but it uses a Ducato Cab http://www.scamtrucks.it/azienda/chi-siamo_en oh and to answer the origional qustion yes a belt driven engine can be put in a 4x4 daily, but with the plastic cover etc i'd be nervous about wading and alot of sand |
