Have recently purchased a 2002 Daily 29L9 2.8 TD. Have read on this site that the recommended oil is Selenia Urania Daily which is a fully synthetic 5W30. I'd also read that it is ACEA E.... rated. So I searched around and got a good price for 5W30 Shell Rimula R6 LME ACEA E.... for £87.50 for 20 litres, which i thought was a fair price. But reading more I now find that two types of oil are recommended, 5W30 ACEA B5 or 15W40 ACEA E3/E5/E7. Is this right? Also, can I use some Millers CRX 75W90 Fully synthetic in my gearbox? And will any 85W140 be ok for the axle? Cheers guys. Going to take this to Cyprus with the missus so your assistance will be greatly appreciated. |

Might be worth contacting http://www.opieoils.co.uk/ They supply oils and give good advice on what your vehicle needs. I used tham and was happy with the advice and oils they supplied for my van. |

Do not use urainia Daily this is meant for the 2.3 and 3.0 engines you need urainia LD7 which is a 15/40 long drain oil. as for gear oil is a fully syn oil called urainia gearlite i guess the millers will be fine.and 85/140 should be fine for the axle Will |

after asking lots of people and going back to the place that used to service it and contacting two lubrication companies who asked for full details of the engine etc everything points to pretty standard oil..im guessing the iveco recommendation is a come back to us and pay us lots of money thing for overpriced oil i opted for the shell rimula RT4 after shell also advised its the one to use which is a 15w40 fleet type heavy duty oil for mixed engines, the lorry place that serviced it for the last 3 years also said they used a fleet universal mineral oil in it and it has been fine. Its only my opinion but its what i have gone with and at £17 per 4 ltrs it means meat on the table this sunday too!

Hi, I was told that if the vehicle is pre '06 then you should use a good 5w30 fully synthetic oil. For newer dailys it depends on the mileage. If its high then its best to use a mineral 15w40 otherwise go for the 5w30. I have used Fuchs before and never had an issue. This wasn't engine specific advice though like you have been told
