2000 50c11 power loss / very slow; performance issues

Hi all

just wondering if there is anything i can check on my van for slow performance. I have done the obvious and i know she will never be quick being a cherry picker. does my 2.8 td have a map sensor or anything i can double check. Regularly serviced and in good nick with 160,000km on the clock.

Hi,

I assume you changed the air and fuel filters on time, so:
Check if the intercooler has traces of oil, that means it is cracked, and lose pressure from the turbo, check the air hoses. Disconnect hose coming out of the turbo and block it somehow (with engine running), it means that you try to suffocate the engine if there is no crack the engine will stop.
Check if the fan is switched on all the time, when the engine is cold, with the ignition switched the fan must spins freely. However there could be many causes that lead to lack of power.
