I am wondering if someone can shed some light on a feature my van developed today? The temperature gauge on my ExLWB 35S12 54 plate 2.3 normally sits at 80, but has been sitting around 90, sometimes even going to 100, initially I thought it was running warm for some reason, but now I am not sure. I stopped the van and turned the ignition on and the gauge showed 80, I then started the van and in about 30 seconds the gauge was over 90. I switched it off and then turned the ignition on and again the gauge showed 80 and on starting the temp raised again. Has anyone else experienced this and/or have any ideas what could be causing this? |

There is another post about this on the forum. The vans do run hot but they also have a magnetic fan system that seems to work well. There is more in the other post for information. |

I posted a reply on an earlier thread about his problem and my experience was that it is a fault within the speedo head affetcting the temp gauge. I tried everything. Checking and cleaning all earths, even running a completely new wire from the temp sender to the head unit and discarding the wiring loom ones. All to no avail so I fitted an extra temp guage as a back up and this works fine. Trouble is with a new head unit they contain it's own ECU board (like the steering col switches) so they are expensive. |

Thanks John, I had seen that thread before I posted and was not convinced it was applicable to my situation!! Cheers R, your response has certainly saved me quite a bit if time, I had considered getting another gauge and will probably go down that route
