If the door lines up on the outside and is relatively flush, then just try moving the striker plate on the C pillar. It should latch shut without excessive slamming but should also hold the door as close to the rubber seal as possible. Behind the door card is a metal rod from the handle and there is some length adjustment on this. There is a catch at the top of the C pillar too that can be troublesome but I would ignore this until the main catch is sorted. There are two studs on the leading edge of the door that locate into plastic lined metal sockets in the B pillar, if these are out of alignment they can also prevent the door shutting properly. If the door is bent then all bets are off! Edited by Spooky_b329, Sep 12 2012, 06:58 AM.

Thanks for prompt reply I have lubricated the rear catch at the top rear of the door, it was a bit sticky. top of door is slightly out from body but not leaking, is this adjustable? will run for a while and see if the fault comes back weeme |

The top catch is just additional support, mine is missing completely and my door is water tight, but it does rattle a bit. I think the main catch is the cause of your door opening. If the rollers have worn out your door may have dropped so the catch isn't lining up. |

...or the length adjustment that spooky mentioned has been done up too tight and maybe going over a bump or something is causing it to release the door. I know when I adjusted mine when it was too loose I first did it too tight and the door wouldn't latch shut. -Matt |
