I have a tag/label that says 7000kgs with aload of other stuff written on it where the drivers door catches on the body. The label is on the body not the door. Its also says production date etc etc.
It would seem there is no consistency of train weight for the "s" models....
Think it is best for anyone to check there specific vehicle before towing!!

There is a plate normally under the bonnet on the slam panel (black and silver)
First line is: chassis No.
Then: gross vehicle weight (GVW)
Then: gross train weight (GTW)
Then: max front axle weight
Then: max rear axle weight
Then: model (ie 35c15 or whatever yours is)
Then: wheel base
Then: engine code

For any one that doesn't know.... GTW - GVW = your max towing weight.

IF YOU TOWING A TRAILER PLEASE CHECK, cos you will end up with a hefty fine and poss a day in court if you over weight!!

RADIOTWO.... I'd say you had a bargin getting uprated to 7ton GTW for free... Nice one!!!

Interesting chat! I didn't know all these differences before.

Is there a tag/vin plate anywhere on the vans that should indicate your train weight etc?
Sudesh

Open the bonnet, on the top of the slam plate for the bonnet there is a plate to the left with all the weight details.

My max rear axle weight is 2600kg
It would seem the "s" model has a lesser max axle weight of 2240kg, which makes sense given mine is the twin wheel "c" model!!

SUDESH..... Have you towed a trailer since fitting the tuning box? If so how was the mpg??

I didn't get a chance yet to test mpg, the car I was to transport on Monday wasn't ready to be collected from the dealer, so waiting for them to let me know.

I wasn't expecting that Sudesh, your plate = 7000kg-3500kg=3500kg towing weight. Either there are inconsistencies or, seeing as your van has all the bells and whistles, it was perhaps ordered with an upgrade to the towing weight. (Although I've seen no mention of this being available on the Iveco site.)

Hi,

Radiotwo was the first owner of my van, and he specked most if it from new!

he mentions above that he upgraded to the larger train weight.
