Want to lift the cab flooring to add some insulation. It is held by four bolts, but no obvious way to disconnect the cable. Just payed for and downloaded a workshop manual and it has no info. :(

Any pointers would be appreciated.

You can disconnect the cable under the van in front of the rear axle, there is a balancer bar (or whatever the correct name is) where the main cable connects to the cables to each wheel. You may need to disconnect the cables at the rear calipers to get enough slack at the bar.

Doing this will presumably give you enough slack to lift the handbrake lever clear.

Are you insulation for sound deadening or warmth...as the floor already has a small amount of insulation, but the cab doors and windows will account for the vast majority of both heat loss and noise coming in. For engine noise you might be best insulating the engine bulkhead and the underside of the bonnet.

Thanks found the balancer bar and disconnected and it was enough to allow removal. :)

The insulation is mainly for warmth as it is a motorhome allow any additional sounding proofing it provides will be a bonus. Its an A class, so no cab doors to worry about. There is a small amount of corrosion (nothing serious, and can sort with some Por 15) on the exposed area where the seats bolt to the floor which I think in probably due to condensation. Also will give me the opportunity to block up the unused (probably for LHD fitment) pre drilled manufacturers holes.

Thanks for the pointer.
