Hi everyone,
I'm new to this and any forum to be honest but having problems with my Iveco Daily 35 van. There is a red flashing light that keeps appearing on the dial to the left on the dash. To me it almost looks like a flashing ice cream cone! and when it comes on I loose power on the van, engine stays on but accelerator pedal doesn't respond. I have to put my foot under the pedal and pull it back, then I get power back! It's been getting worse recently and I'm a bit worried if I go to a garage they'll spin me a line and charge a fortune! Any help out there would be much appreciated.

Tell us exactly when the light comes on. Does it do it on the overrun, after you've backed off the throttle, or does it do it under load?

Thanks for that...I'll have a look and see what I can find. At least I know what it is now!
I'm not sure now when it does it? I'm going to have to think about that to get the right answer! Could you explain what the difference would be..ie what the different problems would be for each thing? Thanks for your help.
One thing I do remember was that the van did it repeatedly the other day, so much I couldn't drive it, so I turned ignition off, waited a few minutes and then all was ok for the rest of the 10miles home. Not sure if that gives anyone any clues or not?

I suspect some problem with the turbo.
The light showing is the injector. It means there is a engine fault detected. Your engine is holding down the power, because the detected error is a possibility for engine damage.

Let the dealer read out the fault codes and get the right solution for your problem.

Why, because it's relevent. Still need to know exactly when the fault occurs, climbing a hill under load (fuel delivery problem) or when you have accelerated and the backed off the throttle (overfuelling due to worn pump).

The more you can tell us, the more we can narrow things down.

Ok I'll pay more attention to the detail of when its happening when I'm driving the van tomorrow and I'll post again. Thanks for everyone's time with their help on this. :) :)
