Hello chaps, just found this little delight under some paint camouflage and carefully placed rubber seal. Can anynone advise the best thing for me to do with this? There's a few rust patches in other places that I caN deal with but this is a bIt more than I can do myself at the moment . Any advice on how to get it fixed and what it should cost? Thanks

Has it actually rotton through? For a start, get all the rust scraped off and sanded up. That'll tell you how much good metal is left and how much is actually rotton. Then, if there's a fair bit rotton, you can get right-angle steel strips in different gagues from any bodyshop panel supplier. Because the profile of the back of the van is a simple one, it's an easy job to piece new metal in to repair it. Any half decent DIY welder/mechanic/bodyshop can put that right in half a day. |
