i am looking to replace a 54reg 35c12 with a 57reg 3.0ltr daily. am i mad. is the 57reg a euro 4. ie cheaper road tax. im not so sure. as euro4 is march 03 till december 06..then a gap. then euro5 jan 09 till dec 2010.. so i think 57reg daily has road tax rate of £215.
all these dates are the registered dates as well. not the manufactured date.
the 54reg i have now isnt euro4 i dont know why.

Digger, you have totally lost me lol

I was lead to believe that if the vehicle is Euro 4, then the tax is cheap at around £215 r what ever 12months is, if its not Euro 4 then the tax is £400+?

Is that not correct? Maybe Im getting mixed up.

euro4 road tax is £135 for the year...your paying £215 because your vehicle isnt euro4. its classed as any other vehicle registered after march 2001.

yep. euro4 is £135 a year. but euro 4 is 2009 till 2010.

i pay £215 for my 54reg. and £220 for a 1998.

tax dosent have to be taxing they say. but it is.

just happy i researched a bit before i went and bought it..trying for a newer vehicle and cheaper tax to reduce overheads..

Hi all

the price depends on when it was registered, some euro 4's are cheap ie £135 and some are dearer £215, and this also
is the same for euro 5's, check this site out:

Can't really get me heed around this. We have:

65c17, 56 plate, Euro 3
65c18, 07 plate, Euro 4
65c18, 57 plate, Euro 4

Not sure where you get the Euro 4 is 2009-2012 from?

Mind, all 3 are £165 a year tax ;)
