Im running two leisure batteries as auxiliary batteries on my work van for charging tools, microwave etc and have acquired another 110Ah standard shunt type battery. Has anyone any idea if theres a problem in running the different types together. I know that they work in a different way, but does that effect the operation of them as a combination Cheers Chris |

don't know why exactly but if running leisure batteries together they should both be of the same amperage, also using a standard type vehicle battery along side a leisure battery isn't adviseable as they disharge at a differant rate, hope this helps, but don't take it as gosple |

As above, it will work but it is not good for longevity as some batteries may work harder than others. You could fit a beefy changeover switch so you can use the 110ahr as a reserve, but this runs the risk that you will forget to switch to the correct bank occasionally meaning you inadvertently fail to charge one bank during a drive. |

shouldnt really be a problem, i have 2x 100ah leisure batteries running alongside main battery. never got round to putting a relay between the 2. 3 years later all still works well |
