Hi, second question of today, having recently got my first truck, 75e15, 2000.

The Glow-plug light hasn't worked since the mechanics put new batteries on the other week, but I have been starting it like a diesel anyway... turning the ignition and waiting a few moments until the pretend glow light would normally go off, is this necessary?

The other question is the air pressure/handbrake, I seem to wait a while (1.5mins) before the pressure builds up enough to be able to take the handbrake off when I start it in the morning, there are two needles that catch up with each other to go up to the last quarter of the gauge to build up the air brakes. If I rev it it seems to go quicker. Is this normal? Once out the brakes are fine straight away for the return journey.

My mechanics are having it back in a week but just wanted to check I was sort of doing it right. It will be fully checked over when they have it, they have only done the batteries as they went flat. Apart from running out of diesel today (drama!) it seems to actually run really well, touch wood.

this is normal for the brakes, it takes a few minutes for the air to build up. once the needles are up and the light goes out your ready to rock and roll.

Revving the engine will get the air brakes off faster, but not really that good for the engine with it being cold. Maybe just raise the revs a little if you are in a rush.
