After driving for more than 1hour my vehicle won't select reverse or forward gears. It can take up to 20minutes to finally select. Can anyone give me any ideas? Dealer has had a look & found a loose grub screw but this has not rectified the situation. Seems to be worse in hot temperature! Dave |

Hi, It can be a mechanical fault or electrical fault. It's hard to find the fault without a diagnostic tool. I moved your post to the specific section of the forum!!! |

How do I find the specific section you have moved my question to thanks....just to say, the vehicle has been on the scan tool several times with no results!! Quite frustrating, especially at lights with a line up of traffic behind with angry drivers when vehicle deceived to neutralise on many occasions. Dave |

Hi Dave, if your question was moved it would have been me. Its currently in Iveco Daily Forums → Iveco Daily Technical → 4th Gen (2006-Present) which you can see in orange under the banner at the top of the page. |

When you say dealer has had a look, do you mean an Iveco dealer? If it wasn't an Iveco dealer then possibly the "scan tool" you referred to isn't capable of diagnosing Iveco. |

The electronic units do not always stores the defects, so an universal scan tool, or an unskilled technician will not find the fault. Iveco diagnostic tool can read live parameters and can do an active diagnose to components. For example: it is possible that the clutch disc to be worn and with Iveco diagnostic tool it can be seen that, without removing the gearbox. This defect may not be stored in electronic unit, so a universal scan tool is in vain in this case. If you could tell us, where exactly they found that loose screw... Hi all, anyone have any ideas on my last post? I'm out of suggestions to take back to the dealer so would appreciate any input from your experience. Dave |
