Hi everyone - I'm new on here and new to truck ownership, so learning all the time. I recently bought a 2006 Eurocargo 75E17 recovery truck. There was no owners handbook with the vehicle so I've been learning as I go along. I currently have 2 problems you might be able to help with. I'm having trouble with batteries. If I leave the batteries connected overnight, then one of them only has 3 volts the next day. One keeps 12, but she won't start until both batteries have an overnight charge. Everything seems to be switched off. Any ideas what can be drawing current from the batteries? Secondly, and this is a strange one, she's currently stuck in fourth gear. Yesterday, for the first time, I jacked the cab forward in order to get access to the engine. Something I'd never done before. Once I'd had a good look around, I jacked the cab back down. When I got in the cab this morning, I noticed the gear lever in the 4th position, and no matter how hard I try it will not move out of that position. In my naievity, I didn't consider the gear lever position when jacking the cab forward and back. It's a sleeper cab so longer than a day cab. Any ideas what might have happened and what I can do to get the gear selector working again? Thanks for your help. ANT

Hi, You will have to replace the battery with only 3V. Rise the cabin again until it is relasing the lock, then ask someone to get in the cab and hold the lever in the neutral position, then you can lower back the cabin. |

Thanks Bazil-S, Are you saying that when I tilt the cab again until it releases the hydraulic lock, the gear selector will be free to move from 4th gear position to neutral? That means there's an interlock between the gearbox and the hydraulics for the cab?? What is the gear selector supposed to be left in when tilting the cab? Regards ANT |
