Hi,

I have a Eurocargo 150e21, Scarab. The ABS light is on and we have had a diagnostic check with the computer and it says that the fault is "Brake Pedal Switch, Open Circuit or Continuous Activation" has anybody got any ideas about this as we have changed the brake switch and its still the same fault. We have tried clearing it but no joy.

There are 2 codes one for the brakes is DTC 1714 and the EDC also shows fault code DTC 16, this one says brake pedal switch, value is below limit.

When the brake switch is taken out the ABS light goes off but the brake lights stay on. Any help or guidance would be appreciated thanks.

This could be a faulty in the footbrake valve which is giving you the faulty brake pedal switch problem. Check all of the connections to the valve especially the abs leads. The leads could be broken or corroded. Next check that they are connected properly at the excitor ring
