Hi,

IVECO did not manufactured Daily 4x4 third generation, only the second generation and fourth generation.
At the second generation the spare parts become hard to find and at the fourth generation the fuel quality can be a problem.
There are 4WD versions manufactured in Brazil, China, and Argentina, built on the chassis of the second, or third generation with Euro 3 engine (third generation), but can not be registered in Europe.
You can also search for a SCAM vehicle.

For simplicity its got to be the 2nd generation

It'll run on anything

Problems are age so getting a good non rusty non wrecked one but they do come up, ex police or airport vehicles.

Parts are not bad - we can get or make do with most things , 4x2 parts fit , apart from the timing chain the engine is the standard sofim so loads of parts available and parts are available from china , we (the ivecodaily4x4 yahoo group) have been trying to find someone we can deal with in china for body parts, snorkels , wheels etc

2nd generation are selectable 2/4 wheel drive with rear diff lock as standard, front as optional , low box and free wheeling hubs. The 4th generation and scams (the people who make the truck for iveco) do have fuel issues but read the other postsas this can be got around, the big issue though is cost for most people.

Panel vans are all short wheel base - if you want to build a body on one then look for a chassis cab 3.2m wheelbase.

Anymore questions ask away.

To give you an idea I have a friend who has been overlanding since 2007 in his Iveco , rolled it in Mongolia, patched it up and its now just done south america, they are tough. He just got hold of an ex red cross ambi to build a new camper for africa (the other one has been sold and is staying in south america)

The Chinese parts are slowly becoming available in Australia. We have a number of the new generation 2 and 3 engines coming into Australia at the moment. Haven't cracked any other parts. I know the CV's and Drive shafts are being made and are being offered by but at Iveco pricing.

I've found most parts are available but the speed at which you can find them is inversely proportional to the desperation of the need. Being in an unfamiliar country can be an issue. The forums are very useful and a lot of people are prepared to help

Don't give up on the series 2 They are good value for money

Hi Rich

I'm using this forum because its easier to post pictures than the Yahoo one. I like the yahoo one for the technical content and will still post there.

The La forza parts must be a finite resource. I suspect They will dry up as they become more obsolete. We had better make hay while the sun shines.

The only parts that really worry me are the front drive shafts and rubber suspension parts however I was going to look at having the rubber bits molded out of urethane. The front hub and disc brake components are also a worry.

where are you Nefas? we dont see many gen 1's in Britan & Ireland. i know theyre lower powered than the gen 2's, but further than that I have no idea. bad news for parts around this area for sure, maybe better in mainland Europe

I'm in Barcelona, Spain. I thought the 2.5L 100hp engine was the same on Gen I and Gen II 4x4 models, not sure on the 4x2 versions.
