After 9 months of planning, choosing the right Daily, finding the company for a lightweight body, tail lift, and paint shop it finally all came together just before christmas and on the road on my birthday on 11th Jan. Best birthday ever!! Ha ha! And now ive finally found the right sleeper pod ordered from Poland to finish it all off. Hopefully completely finished by May. :D

Very nice,I see you have gone (sensibly) for light weight to improve payload,of course the other benefit is better mpg hopefully! do you have a specific contract? the reason I ask is the box looks slightly taller than norm and you obviously have a reason for that. so what was the reasoning in the 17 model rather than say 15 or 18? either way it looks great and hats off to you ,certainly hope it goes well for you.best of luck regards Paul

Thanks Paul. The body is 100mm taller than i had originally intended! The body was built before the van arrived and was based on a C model Daily rather than an S. The C model sits higher than an S and also due to the fact ive got rear air suspension it needed leaway. So an extra 100mm aluminium chassis had to fill the gap. I orginally measured the hight to allow a sleeper pod to go on the roof, so i found a Daily chassis cab on a forecourt, measured it, added another 800mm for the pod with an extra 10mm on top of that. Instead ive ended with 110mm leaway and 10' 11" in hight!! Live and learn i suppose. The reason for the 17 was because i wanted the 3.0 litre engine and they either done a 170bhp or the 205bhp. Thanks again.

BTW Im averaging around 23-24 MPG

In my 35S12 i averaged 30+

Thanks Mark. Slippers hey!! Ha ha. I can get around 950kg in it. Could have been 1000kg if I didn't choose to buy a 750kg taillift. Including 5% VOSA allowance (175kg) I take 1100kg. I bought the chassis cab from Iveco Dagenham Motors in Barking as I had bought my first 35S12 panel van from there in 2004. But as of 28 Feb 2013 Dagenham Motors have dropped the Iveco Franchise. The chassis cab with both extra option packs and rear air and a Webasto cab heater came to £25,200. I originally thought I could get all of it finished for 25k! How wrong was I!!!
