Hey guys,
I'm thinking of joining you lot and buying a 45c15 box.
My first question is how long do they go on for? This one I'm thinking of looking at has 200k on it. (It's a 2008.) has it got any life left?
Also does anyone know the payload of this? The plate says 2510kg but that's when it was just a chassis, anyone know what a 11ft box weighs?
My plan is to put a 1500kg Landrover in it and put a towbar on and tow a caravan, anyone see a problem with that?
Anything else to look out for should there're be any life in it?
Thanks for help in advance. Gary.

The bare chassis cab would be approx 2oookg on its own add a box depending on all alli or steel sub chassis would be 350/550kg approx.
as its over 3500 kg you will most likely need O licence, definately need drivers cpc next year I believe....Mark on here under mk 2 listings is one of the guys who are really up on this (drives a recovery)
re how long will it go on for, that all depends on how its been driven and serviced up to date, the warning signs to look for on the engines is breathing fumes( a breather hangs down underneath the engine near the sump cross member near side)
and basically all the normalthings you would look at on any vehicle, if it has a service history actually read through it and check mileage intervals that it has been serviced at,gear box check when cold the ease at which you can get 2/3 and fourth gears as they give the most trouble, and listen for any grumbling or whining from the box or axle.If properly looked after nothing unusual to get 400,000 miles upwards,as with everything you get good and bad ones if in doubt walk away or pay the aa/rac to do a check for you. happy hunting Paul

One of our 65c15's has got over 900'000 kms on the clock.
Right enough, it's not it's original engine (original box, diff and shafts though).

And it's had a full nut+bolt rebuild before, and put into fresh paint 3 times :)

Bit like Triggers broom :)
But still out earning.
