Hello, I have a 2007 Iveco Stralis as 450 that is not charging the battery. We removed the alternator and tested, seems okay, replaced with another, it charged for a short while and then stopped. I am getting a new error code ln the dash- Error E1. Any idea where to check next? Any help will be grately appreciated. Thanks! |

Update: after putting back the old alternator, it works (charges the battery) for a short while then stops charging. Any ideas what this could be? Thanks. |

What's the crack. Have you check the fuse for the alternator? |

Vector, I checked the fuse and it is ok. The error actually is 1E and not E1. Anyone know what this error is or where I can find the fault codes interpreted? Thanks. Buddy,I've just had exactly the same prob on a 2006 430.Changing batts and alternator didn't help. But then the alternator belt broke, and we found that the belt tensioner was failing after a few minutes of running-the extra stress when it was spinning over and generating current meant that it slowly let the belt loosen Only noticed it when running it over the pit,and saw it happen bizarre. hope this helps |
