hi all. sorry my 1st post is a tech request, i promise to rectify that sharpish.

ive got a 2003 75e17 tector engine'd cargo with the abs light on. i'm fairly sure i know why but i want to make sure before i go spending a fortune...

question one is does anyone have the 'flash' codes for the bosch ecu so i can make sure its the abs sensors and nothing else that's causing my issue.
question two is can i clear the fault codes without taking it to iveco, if so, how?
question three is will one of these.... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/IVECO-Truck-Diagnostic-Cable-OBD2-to-30-PIN-for-AUTOCOM-/160974121249?pt=UK_Diagnostic_Tools_Equipment&hash=item257ace2921 and my laptop with obdII reader be able to read and clear codes from my truck? if so, what software do i need, or has anyone got a better idea?

and lastly thanks for all the great help ive had over the years without even having to sign up (until now!)

Hi

You wont read or clear the codes with a generic OBD tool. After market tools are available such as texa that will do it.

why do you think in is a sensor fault, you can test sensors with a DVM.

hi, i know its a abs sensor fault because the rear brake master cyl failed, the brakes where binding and melted the sensors.

i now have a autocom, and can clear codes and read live data etc.

i now have the issue that the code wont clear, it is still active after i have replaced both rear abs sensors.

could someone give me a overview of what i need to know?

what is the correct air gap
do i need to do anything to sync them to the truck?
anything else i need to know?

the live data reads 3.8 and 4.0 mm airgap on the front but 38 on both the rears. both are currently set to 4mm. i haven't tried driving it yet....

quite desperate now, need the get the truck through its mot.

oh and one last thing.... DVM?

Hi

sensor gap should be near to zero e.g thickness of a piece of paper.

you will also need to drive it a short distance to allow the system to self check, codes & light may not reset until this is done.

If you still have a problem sensors will need cheeking with a scope

many thanks, just what i needed to know.

so i just need to tap in the sensors to about .5mm and run it up to the diesel pumps and back.
thanks, i will record the live data whilst doing so and post it up here if im still struggling.

just though i'd put a conclusion on this.

knocked the sensors in to a knats todger from the ring, ran it to the pumps, before i'd even gotten to the gate on the farm track the code had cleared itself.

live data shows

distance front left 5.0
front right 5.0

rear left 14.0
rear right 14.0

speed all showing the same.

id this what you'd expect to see?

not that it matters, its all good now.
