I bought my 75e17 box van a year ago to do several of my own family's house removals - including one to France. Insured it as private as I'm not in business and am only using it for personal use. Because my no claims bonus was transferred to a vehicle in France I had no no claims in the UK but a clean licence. So, last year's insurance for the truck was £1250. This year's renewal, with 1 year's no claims, has gone up to £1425 and I want to keep the vehicle for at least another year. Anyone got any ideas, firstly why it's gone up so much and secondly whether anyone has any recommendations for insurance companies/brokers who might be able to give me a better deal. I've tried Quotezone etc but despite specifically stating I want private insurance the first thing they ask is 'have you got an operator's licence?' and when I say I'm a private individual they say they can't do it. I'd appreciate anyone's experience on the matter. Thanks. |
