Hi Woody, I had this problem with mine a couple of weeks ago.
I assumed it would be the sliders sticking but turned out to be the handbrake lever not returning.
I sprayed mine between the gap with SAS penetrating oil and then with oil can and with her indoors working the handbrake on and off and me keep knocking the lever back with the hammer each time after about 20 goes at this it started returning fine.
Could be small amount of grit trapped between.

I had a similar problem, what actually fixed it in the end was to spend about 15-20 mins driving around and literally doing emergency brakes up to about 40 mph, to the point of van skidding and vibrating etc etc, hitting the brakes HARD. It loosened everything up and has been fine since, although van needing tidying afterwards as everything got thrown all over the place lol. Had my MOT on it the other day and passed flying colours after that

If it's the handbrake mechanism sticking that won't make the slightest bit of difference.
Plus it's far safer to sort out on a jack than on the road.
