Hello everyone I recently had issues with gears sticking and not going in. Upon looking underneath van investigating I noticed that a rubber plug was out nearly fully and another out a bit on the gear box casing. I have no idea what they are for, could someone please identify them for me and let me know what effect them out could be having. In the picture it is just to the right of the bolt facing you. The other is just above and to the left of it as well Any help would be fab thanks |

They look like bell-housing access grommets , not gearbox. Not sure what you could see through them , not up on mk3's sorry. Sure they have nothing to do with gear trouble , maybe a gearbox oil change will help. I use 75/90 semi , but better grade should give better results. |

If the gears are troublesome when cold, change the gear box oil for the genuine stuff from Iveco. |
