Hi all, I have a 35S11 MWB that I converted to a camper, and I'm having trouble with water leaking into the van at the moment. Alas, due to the ceiling being insulated and boarded it is very hard to work out where the water is actually coming from. Initially I thought it was the seam that runs across the van roof just aft of the cab. I dug out the old seam sealant, wire brushed all the crud out and some small bits of rust and coated with Rustoleum primer, and sealed with stixall. When it stops raining I'm going to topcoat it with Rustoleum. Problem is, it is still leaking. I've now done the two other seams, the one about 3/4 of the way back and the one right at the back by the doors. And it is still leaking. I've checked the two skylights and can't see any water coming in from them (removed the inside part and felt all the way around the metal... insulation and metal is dry). One main leak is just above the windscreen, but due to the way the ceiling is boarded up that could be coming from anywhere are running along. It is also dropping from the inside top side loading door roller. Which is *above* the level of the top of the side loading door. So again could be running along. I'm at a loss here... I've spend most of the weekend up there, but can't seem to pinpoint the leak. Just wondering in here, if anyone else has ever had any strange roof-level leaks and any might have any ideas of places the water might be coming in that I don't know of! -Matt |

I had a small leak on mine. Luckily I noticed it before any damage was done. The sealant had failed on the horizontal joint between the roof and the triangular panel above the driver's door. Dug out the factory sealant and then refilled with some new silicon sealant. Might be worth checking on yours. |

Do you mean this join here?![]() I managed to get behind a bit of the headlining there on the passenger side and there is a load of rust there and looks a bit damp, but I can't see any particular gaps on the outside. But if that is the place you had a leak I might take another look. If I have to dig out the sealant there then I'm going to have to repaint it as well... but if it stops it leaking then that will be worth it! -Matt |

Yes that's it. I used clear sealant - almost an invisible repair and no need to paint. At least not on a commercial vehicle, as yours is a camper you may be a bit more 'house proud'. Hope this sorts your problem. Niall |

Hahaha! House proud. Yeah, well I am but my van paint is already a state. It was an ex Omega Express van and the paint is flaking off all over. I got a rattle can matched up to touch it up, but it's like the Forth Bridge. I've got some Vactan on order which hopefully will sort out the rust inside and them can reseal it. -Matt |

A bottle of red food colour and a watering can his will show you the water path, Is could be messy to clear up thought, have someone else look for the leak while you soak every thing ...... |
