Hi there Daily folk! I just wanted to check out how often people are replacing the low pressure fuel pump on their vehicles? this is to ascertain whether I have some unusual problem or not. I run a 2003 35S12 van and I have been replacing the LP pump annually. This is not a high annual millage vehicle but has dome 130000 total.

Perhaps this is really an annual service part, but I don't see it in any service list!
Any advice gratefully received as I am planning a long haul to St Tropez next week and checking my spares list.
Cheers Tom

Same here...
Those bosch pumps fail very early and very easy.

That is why i relocated the pump and moved it in the engine compartment.( no need to go under van, and takes me only 3 min for a change, Also i added a smal inline filter before this pump..to make sure it does not get any dirt inside )

Also...the last one i bought is much better than OEM pump..
Check it on ebay ( called Energy )

On long trips..you should have a spare one to be ready to change it. :)

Rgds

Thank you John, always better when you know you'er not alone. I will def look at an alternate manufacturer and check ebay as suggested. Saying this the blasted van just stopped dead on me after being a bit juddery for a day or so. Checked the LP pump, no sound from it so thought it was dead but there was no injector light at all, not even on the pre-ignition system check. So I checked and jiggled the connectors at the top of the fuel filter block and suddenly its fine.
Looks like I have an afternoon of cable and connector testing ahead.
Nice looking camper by the way.
Cheers
