As I said in other threads, you can clean the sieve with brake cleaner and compressed air. In some cases, the sieve may be clogged with fibers from the fuel filter, so you can use, with great care, a mini torch, possibly a cigarette lighter, to burn the fibers catched in the sieve.
Probably the fuel filters should be replaced. Clogging the sieve, may be due to fuel filters, which were not replaced on time.

Thanks for that Basil,

well its all cleaned, back together and running, I took it for a test drive 20 mins after starting and initially it ran great, plenty of welly, so much better than before, but after a mile or so it did it again (injector light flashing until the revs dropped down) almost like no boost! then it was ok for a bit then did it again, If i am easy on the throttle it is OK, its when you need a boost or are fast on acceleration,

I had a P0190 code that indicates (if I am right) the fuel rail pressure sensor malfunctioning! well that's got to be my next step I think.

I will let you know how I get on, and again thanks for your help.

ALL DONE, I had no 4 Injector reconditioned popped it in and it started on the button. took it for a drive last night (about 30 mins) without a hitch, took it out again tonight for about an hour and half, I started and stopped it a few times, It starts on the button and runs brilliantly,

THANKS TO EVERYONE who helped especially Basil, I have learnt so much from you guys.

2005 Iveco 2.3, had a new starter put on and it would still not start, keycode light came on and it was just turning not astarting.
After speaking to a pal who is a mechanic he said you may bypass/reset the keycode by putting jump leads on the battery, this worked!! Yippee
But still would not start.
I then saw a post where someones wire on the pump was over stretched, we moved the wire and hey presto the lovely Ivy started up !!
