Hi folks, Looking for some advise after reading the fix it fast sticky by Spooky_b329 I have a van (daily 2003 2.3 chassis caB) which starts with plenty of easy start but will cut out after a few moments, it will idle sometimes but only usually on a first attempt. Its hard to describe as its a bit hit and miss but almost always will lead to cutting out. So im thinking great my symptoms are similar to: (b) When the van is revved the engine cuts out and injector light flashes, followed by laboured starting unless van is left for approx 45 minutes. Solution: Check timing belt is tensioned and has not jumped a tooth, check crankshaft sensor, check sensor wiring. Now i was wondering out of the 3 solutions reccomended could anyone who has had the fault before or is a iveco veteran advise me on which one to start from or offer any additonal advise for the symptoms discussed. Does anyone have the specific process for checking the sensor wiring and what to look for. Regards |

Also check the low pressure fuel pump is operating, further details in the fix it fast post. Easy to diagnose as it should be running when the engine is started/ignition first turned on, and easy to change as its tooless connectors on the fuel line. Edited by Spooky_b329, Jun 22 2015, 06:35 PM.

I agree with Spooky, sounds like a fueling issue.. 'Ignition on and listen for the pump buzzing' if this is working correctly....Check for partial blockage possibly in the 'fuel pressure regulator' at the rear of the HP pump.. Good luck, John Edited by plumber john, Jun 22 2015, 10:12 PM.

There are quite a few posts on the forum regarding the fuel pressure regulator, you can use the search facility to find them easily.. Have a read of this topic- http://ivecoforums.com/topic/8924329/1/ Basil-S has added some useful pictures on there.. Good luck, John |

Also check the pre filter behind the low pressure pump. If that has restricted flow it will do the same as a broken pump. I change mine every service. |
