Hi don't know if anyone can help, I have a 2.3 Daily 2005 and it wont start. I have checked the fuel pump on the chassis and it is working and priming the system. I'm not getting fuel from the injection pump to the fuel rail / injectors. I put a noid light on the injector wiring plug and it doesn't light up and pulse as I would expect. I have changed the battery for a brand new one after reading post's on here, I have also changed the crank sensor but still nothing, Vans turns over but doesn't start, doesn't appear to be any power at the injectors, I suspect the stop solenoid in the pump is on the same circuit. Has anybody got any more ideas, all the ignition lights come on ok. Or is there an Iveco mechanic in Northampton that fancy's taking a look at it for me. Thanks |

35C12 2005 MWB DRW 3rd gen’ crew cab tipper F1AE04 85.3 kw 2.3 cc 16v EDC 16. The attached fuel system diagram is for F1A engine. Mine has EDC 16 controller. There's a load of info you need to know about the vehicle and what's in it so as to find out what's wrong with it. There's a workshop manual CD pdf for sale on the internet. It's a pain to know / understand it. They use unfamiliar terminology and use different names for the same thing. It seems that if the red injector light on the consul is not lit then there is a problem with the EDC. There may also be an immobiliser activated when the starter key is removed. I can send some images, of what I have looked at on the wkshp ml pdf, if you need them but it takes a while to do it. Part of the problem with the pdf is that information is divided up, it can be very difficult to link relative info'. Info' about the fuel system and its associated electrics/electronics is not in one chapter. They refer to the fuel system as hydraulics. Edited by ivecofd, Jul 28 2015, 06:31 PM.

Hi, Probably the high pressure pump has the shaft broken. Relatively common problem to 2.3L engines. These pumps does not have stop solenoid, instead has a pressure regulator driven by an ECU and the injectors power is not measured with test lamp! |

Hi Bazil I removed the pump and took it for testing. And you were right the drive shaft in the pump has snapped, causing damage inside the pump. they've ordered the replacement parts from Bosh and are rebuilding it. Thanks for your help mate |
