I'm getting near the end of a front suspension rebuild (new bushes, ball joints, HD transverse spring, brake pipes and flexi's... etc etc etc) and the shocks that came off are looking a bit worse for wear. Previous owner fitted a pair of Sach dampers not to long ago and they don't seem to have lasted well, one the sliding cover is flapping about loose and the other is leaking so they will need to be swapped out too. Hunting around I am amazed at the lack of options ( I have worked in the 4x4 market for many years) so I just wondered if anyone had come across some better after market shocks that fit (slightly longer if possible) before I do a mammoth search to try and match up the Iveco shock lengths to some other vehicle shock sizes. According to the Iveco workshop manual the OE size is closed: 12.598" - 320mm extended: 15.944" - 405mm From the look of the extra deflection in the new spring an additional 2" 50mm would be a wise move. so I need closed: 12.598" - 320mm extended: 17.913" - 455mm thanks if anyone can help Jenna Edited by Jenna, Jul 26 2015, 09:18 AM.
