Hi All. Firstly my apologies for making my first post a plea for help but we're supposed to be going away in "Betty" on Thursday but she really isn't well! "Betty" is our 35s13 2002 2.8 camper conversion who all of a sudden started flashing the dreaded injector light and lacks power - it's difficult to tell if this is limp home mode or a general lack of power. She starts no problem from hot or cold. The LP pump can be heard running for about 6 seconds if you don't try to start her. The engine cooling fan engages even when cold. She seems to rev okay stationary but lacks power being driven. I did find a (very) loose earth connection with about 3 / 4 wires on it and fixed that but still no joy. The fault code list is long and can't be cleared using the EDC button. The faults listed are: 2.1 2.3 8.1 1.4 1.7 1.8 3.7 3.8 2.8 2.9 8.3 9.1 6.1 3.3 3.2 9.3 in that order. My questions are: 1) Is 6 seconds about right for the LP pump and should it run every time the key is turned even if it has just got to pressure, been turned off and straight back on again. 2) I assume the constant cooling fan is a safety mechanism? 3) Are the fault codes read newest to oldest, oldest to newest and can they only be cleared if NO fault is present as every time I try to reset them the same codes are still there. 4) Any ideas - please. Again apologies for the cry / plea for help but the kids were really looking forward to our holiday weekend. Thanks, Dean. |

35C12 2005 MWB DRW 3rd gen’ crew cab tipper F1AE04 85.3 kw 2.3 cc 16v EDC 16. Bazil s posted this: URL is http://ivecoforums.com/topic/8906083/1/ For those who want to reset the EDC errors and the vehicle is equipped with EDC button and LED for blink code. This procedure only works on vehicles with Bosch EDC - Ms 6.3 ( old EDC) usually to 2.8L engines and the first models equipped with 2.3L engines, up to 2003. Attention! can be reseted only the inactive errors (memorized errors but the faults solved). If there any active errors, I mean the faults present to the engine and unrepaired, this can not be deleted. There are several 8140XX 2.8 engines. F1A engine is 2.3 ltr. F1C 2.998 ltr. 8140XX of which there are several types 2.8 ltr. The hp varies from 88 to 141/150. 8140.43C.4 ID/TCA 2.8 ltr. 8140.63.4 PC/NA 2.8 ltr. There are engines with electronic high pressure injection system 8140.43R.43XX/44XX--------.43B.43XX/44XX --------.43S.41XX------ .43S.43XX/44XX------------.43N.43XX/44XX and: Engines with rotary mechanical injection pump 8140.43C.43 XX and 8140.63.40 XX. You may need to know which 2.8 you have. I have not as yet found any EDC error codes on the workshop manual pdf. It is probably old stuff but it could help to know what some of it is about. http://nanocom-diagnostics.com/downloads/1392441584.pdf Go to the home page for 3rd generation at the top of the list on the lhs BAZIL S has put a list of information together. Documentation and how to guides. - COMMON ISSUES AND SOLVING PROCEDURES - How to read blink codes. Edited by ivecofd, Jul 29 2015, 09:45 PM.
